(Washington) Using thought alone and with some electrodes placed on the surface of the brain, four volunteers were able to control a video game. Simply by thinking the word “move,” the volunteers played the simple video game.
“It took six minutes of training and they all achieved control in less than 24 minutes,” Leuthardt (Eric Leuthardt, a neurosurgeon at Barnes-Jewish Hospital in St. Louis) said. “After a brief training session, the patients could play the game by using signals that come off the surface of the brain,” added Moran. “They achieved between 74 and 100 percent accuracy, with one patient hitting 33 out of 33 targets correctly in a row.”
Potentially, people paralyzed by disease or accidents could use such devices to work, read, write and even possibly to move around.

Comment: Thought is important – because thoughts are the force behind the sins of word and action. The mirror of the law reveals what God thinks of improper motives or the seeds of sinful action - "sinful thoughts."

(Amsterdam) A Dutch thief left an apologetic letter and promised a donation after he realized he was burgling a charity that helps the poor and elderly. The thief’s remorseful handwritten letter praised charity group Humanitas for its work and agonized over the effect the burglary would have on his conscience. “I have only eaten some biscuits from the tin and some Easter eggs. When I’m less hard up I will make a small contribution to your account.”
“Of course it’s a nuisance there was a burglary, but it leaves a good feeling that there are still good thieves,” the charity’s Web site said.

Comment: His conscience didn't prevent him from his illegal activity, it only served as a partial mirror. Apparently if it weren't a charity, his conscience wouldn't have bothered him that much.

(Douglasville, Ga.) A woman came home from vacation to find a stranger living there, wearing her clothes, changing utilities into her name and even ripping out carpet and repainting a room she didn’t like. During the 2 1/2 weeks the owner, Beverly Mitchell, was on vacation in Greece, Valentine allegedly redecorated the ranch home, ripping up carpet and taking down the owner’s pictures and replacing them with her own. Authorities found a gun and $23,000 worth of Mitchell’s jewelry in Valentine’s car.

Comment: When we have been on vacation from our faith and then hear God’s law again, we may find that someone totally different from whom we want to be, or more importantly, whom God wants us to be, is living in our hearts. With the power of God’s Word, the rightful owner can be restored to the home of our hearts.

(Jerusalem) Israel is considering using an unusual new weapon against Jewish settlers who resist this summer’s Gaza Strip evacuation — a device that emits penetrating bursts of sound that leaves targets reeling with dizziness and nausea.
…Protesters covered their ears and grabbed their heads, overcome by dizziness and nausea, after the vehicle-mounted device began sending out bursts of audible, but not loud, sound at intervals of about 10 seconds. An Associated Press photographer at the scene said that even after he covered his ears, he continued to hear the sound ringing in his head.
A military official said the device emits a special frequency that targets the inner ear. Exposure for several minutes at close range could cause auditory damage, but the noise is too intolerable for people to remain in the area for that long.

Comment: Sounds like God’s Law. God strikes the inner heart, so that we do not have to suffer the violence of hell, but instead run from sin and seek safety in God.
