A farmer, while loading hay in his field, was attacked by his neighbor’s bull dog. The man defended himself with the pitchfork and sent the dog yelping home. The neighbor rebuked him and asked, “Why did you not use the blunt end of the fork first?”
“I would have,” replied the farmer, “if your dog had come at me blunt end first.”

Comment: Today's relativistic society is so far from understanding the impact of each and every sin, that they are shocked when God would punish just one sin with eternal death and separation from him. Sin is sharp and biting, and must be eradicated from that which is good, because it only brings pain and suffering - lovelessness and selfishness in every form. To me it is more shocking that God would LOVE us so much, that he would make his Son take the bite out of our punishment by taking nails and thorns and hell into his own flesh.

Moralism defangs the law; it gums you to death but never kills you.
Korby, Kenneth. May 1992
Comment: WWJD is typical moralizing. When Christ's example takes precedence in our teaching over Christ's sacrifice, then the Law becomes more a way of following the heavenly pattern than the nails in our spiritual coffin, showing us to be totally unable to save ourselves. Our path to follow Christ always begins at the cross, where we must flee when the law is taught with all its canines in place. Then having been restored, we run after Christ asking him to show us the best way to thank him.

Defense attorneys, predictably, are capitalizing on the popularity of shows like CSI, seizing on an absence of forensic evidence, even in cases where there's no apparent reason for its use. In a Peoria case, jurors acquitted a man accused of stabbing his estranged girlfriend because police didn't test her bloody bedsheets for DNA. The man went back to prison on a parole violation and stabbed his ex again when he got out--this time fatally.

Comment: God’s evidence against us is never faulty – he is an eye-witness to it all.
