The “Good as New” translation, translates Mark 1:10-11 this way: “As he was climbing up the bank again, the sun shone through a gap in the clouds. At the same time a pigeon flew down and perched on him. Jesus took this as a sign that God’s spirit was with him. A voice from overhead was heard saying, “That’s my boy! You’re doing fine!”

Comment: When translations get a bit silly.

The “Good as New” translation, translates Matthew 26:69-70 this way: “A woman came up to him and said: ‘Haven’t I seen you with Jesus, the hero from Galilee?’ Rocky shook his head and said: ‘I don’t know what the hell you’re talking about!’”
2004 WorldNetDaily.com cited in: July 5, 2004. Christian News, Vol. 42, No. 27, p. 12
Comment: Though the translation is quite blunt, that's probably about what Peter said.

“I hate to raise one alone, without a sibling,” said Wulf, who was impregnated both times through in vitro fertilization.
The oldest woman on record to give birth is a 66-year-old Adriana Iliescu of Romania, who had a Caesarean section Jan. 15, 2005.

Of the four [different blood sacrifices], the sin offering had the greatest measure of Messianic significance. It announced two important messages which every sinner needs to hear: Sin costs a life; God will accept a substitute.

[The] burnt offering (Hebrew: olah)… was by far the most frequently offered blood sacrifice in Israel. An ‘olah’ solemnly opened each day’s worship at tabernacle or temple and—twelve hours later—solemnly brought each day’s worship to a close. The burnt offering was the only one of the four blood sacrifices in which the entire carcass of the sacrificial victim (minus the hide and the contents of the intestines) was consumed by fire…
With this offering Israelite worshipers expressed their total consecration to God.

Comment: Note this was a daily consecration. Not only does that remind us of the necessity of daily commitment, but it reminds us that Christ's sacrifice on the cross also replaced this one. Our daily failures have been forgiven by a sacrifice that has already been completed for the rest of the days of my life.
What's my response? May it be daily devotion as I offer my whole self in thanks to the Lord's work!
